Antique furniture restoration

Antique furniture restoration in Nyon, Geneva and the canton of Vaud. Re-gluing, structural repairs, finishes that respect the patina. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth it.

Restoration

Antique furniture restoration: repair rather than replace

Assessment before quoting

We look at the piece and tell you what is worth restoring and what is not. Sometimes the honest answer is no.

Joints and structure

Re-gluing, replacing tenons, rebuilding legs or rails. Soundness before looks.

Respectful finishes

We avoid aggressive stripping that removes the patina. A fine antique loses value when it is made to look new.

Adapting to modern use

An antique can be adapted to a modern room without losing its character.

How we work

Why a restoration cannot be priced from a photo

Inspection before quoting

We need to see the joints and the real condition of the wood. Re-gluing a joint and rebuilding a whole top are completely different jobs.

Respecting the patina

We avoid aggressive stripping that erases the history of the piece, and often its value.

Invisible or visible repair

Depending on the piece, we either hide the repair or make it openly visible. It is your choice, discussed before we start.

Our method

How it works

Step 1

We come and measure

A free appointment at your home. We take real measurements, listen to what you have in mind, and spot the constraints nobody sees on a plan.

Step 2

Itemised quote, with a 3D plan when the project calls for it

You receive an itemised quote. For larger projects (kitchen, complete fit-out, staircase), we include a 3D plan so you can see the result before deciding. Nothing starts without your written approval.

Step 3

Built in Grens

Everything is made in our workshop, five minutes from Nyon. FSC/PEFC certified timbers, finishes checked piece by piece before anything leaves.

Step 4

Installation & follow-up

Our team installs everything cleanly in your home. We check that it is perfect, make any final adjustments, and stay available for follow-up.

FAQ

Your questions answered

Do you restore family furniture?

Yes. It has been a large part of our work since 1967. Often pieces with little market value, but that matter.

Is a restoration quote free?

Yes, like all our quotes. For a restoration we usually need to see the piece before pricing.

How much does a restoration cost?

Too variable to quote a general price. The quote is free once we have examined the piece.

Can you adapt an antique to modern use?

Yes: cable routing, an added shelf, a height adjustment, while keeping the original look.
