A family workshop in Grens, since 1967

Workshop founded in 1967 in Grens by Nardo Hernandez. His son Manuel works there today, in the same place. Carpentry and cabinetmaking, all made in-house, nothing subcontracted.

Our story

From Nardo to Manuel

In 1967, Nardo Hernandez opened his carpentry workshop in Grens. At the time La Côte was still largely farmland, and most fitted work was done by hand, on site.

His son Manuel works there today, in the same building, with the same skills passed down from father to son. The machines have changed and drawings moved to 3D for larger projects, but the way of working has not: we measure on site, we build it ourselves, we fit it ourselves.

More than sixty years in the same place is a responsibility as much as a source of pride. Clients from thirty years ago come back, and so do their children. In a region where everyone knows each other, we cannot afford a botched job.

Our positioning

A large share of high-end work

Villas and architect-led projects

A large share of our work is for villas and high-quality renovations on La Côte and in the canton of Geneva, often in direct collaboration with an architect or interior designer.

Rare timbers and veneers

Beyond oak and ash, we work walnut, maple, larch and rare tropical hardwoods on request. Every timber remains FSC/PEFC certified.

Traditional joints

Mortise and tenon, dovetails: when the piece deserves it, we work as cabinetmakers, not as panel assemblers.

Care in what you cannot see

Carcass backs, edges, the inside of units. That is where you tell workshop craftsmanship from a mass-produced product.

Both trades

Carpenter and cabinetmaker, not one or the other

A carpenter builds and installs fitted work: wardrobes, kitchens, staircases, doors. A cabinetmaker works on furniture and fine detail. Most firms pick one. We do both, which means we can handle the complete fit-out of a villa as well as the restoration of a family heirloom.
